I was born in Denizli, 1967. I am married and have three kids. I am a Denizli tradesman. I have started keeping pigeons through my grandfather the late Husnu Damgaci. He used to take me with him visiting other lofts in the neighborhood. I was about 6-7 years old then. When I bought my first pigeons, I was 11. It was the biggest excitement for me. I still keep that excitement. During school and military years, I was separated from pigeons for short periods of time. Today with my family I continue my hobby in my small back yard and in the internet environment. I would like to see my kids take up this relaxing and entertaining kind of endeavor also. I also would like to thank my wife for especially supporting me through all my endeavors. |

Besides pigeons, I like reading books, working on the garden, riding motorcycles and traveling to historical sites. It gives me a great pleasure to be with nature. Going to nature trips with my family and sharing all these with them is the biggest happiness for me. I am one of the most loyal followers of the nature, animal and historical documentaries. In truth, I can say, I am one of those people who do not like to open him self to outside much. Sole purpose of all my work is to show just like us Turks our pigeon breeds also originated in Central Asia and spread over the rest of the geographical areas through Anatolia (Asian portion of Turkey) and the professional pigeon keeping of Turks also. Pigeon keeping is more than a hobby but a culture that has spread over our history for us Turks. In this manner, I am certain there will be a documentary filmed to tell all these in close future. |

As far as Sancaktepe; It is located at the skirts of the Honaz mountain, 18 km from downtown Denizli. Honaz mountain is the highest point of the Aegean region of Turkey with 2571 m. peak. It is a dormant volcano. Sancaktepe and Sakartepe are located on the west side of it. Between these two hilltop towns Cankurtaran town sits with its 2500 population. This area is the preferred summer pasture during our rather hot months. Yearly, in September, the international paragliding and delta wing competitions takes place here. Honaz mountain and surrounding areas are also a protected national park..

Between Sancaktepe and Sakartepe hills, Cankurtaran passageway connects Denizli to the southern coastal strip of Turkey. Going through here is the shortest way to Antalya, Fethiye and Marmaris. This passage way and its surroundings in the history is known as Garb'i Karaagac, meaning the west corner of the Seljuk Empire. It is known to be the ground of many wars before the conquer of Denizli. |
