My big loft is 200cm (6.56') by 400 cm (13.12'). Its walls are made out of special type of bricks called "bims" which are very light and provide a high level of air insulation. There is also insulation between the ceiling and the roof tiles.
The iron bars on the doors and windows are also covered by a thin layer of expended metal for  extra protection and air circulation.
The holes above the doors, which are locally called "gelgeç" (come and go) are used as trap
doors as well as providing additional air flow during winter months.
During fall, it is possible to divide the loft in the middle to separate the hens from cocks. There is also a lighting system for night care. If you would like to see the interior set up of the big loft you can click on the button at the bottom of this page.
My small loft is made out of wood and its dimensions are 180 cm (5.9') by 200 cm (6.56'). Between the outside and inside walls also under the roof. Split door set up works very well in the tight space available. There is also another set of doors behind this one and they are made out of expended metal. These doors  provide extra security as well as providing perfect air
circulation during summer months.
Small loft also has a lighting system and it has air openings at eh bottom and top portions of the doors. From fall, after separating the pairs, to spring I don't use this loft. Its only used for the late young birds of the season for a period.
The small fountain and the sand pool in the garden are one of the most favorite places of the pigeons. The interior of the small loft is rather simple compared to the big one but very practical.
