DOLAPCI 2
Çil (mottle) pattern Dolapcis.
Martiçil (brown freckles) hen / DN 14 - Martiçil cock / DN 30
In some of the dolapçi blood lines it is possible to run into 16-18 tail feathers.
Oil gland is not preferred. I find this preference to be correct in general.
Macuni Gök (pasty blue) cock / DN 41 - Gökçil (blue-freckles) hen / DN 01
While wide standing tail looks good Dolapçi on the ground it also comes
pleasant to the eye in the air. Regardless of the left or right side spin
dolapçi does not turn its tail to that direction. During a hard or soft spin
the tail stays in the same position.
Karaçil (black-freckles) hen / DN 11 - Karaçil cock / DN 12
Even though, muffed and groused legs are not seen dolapcis a few small
feathers on the inside or outside of the ankle is not considered to be a fault.
Karaboyun (black-neck) hen / DN 07 - Akçil (white-freckles) cock / DN 08
I have ran into crested dolapcis only in two lofts in Denizli. One of them
come from a rather old blood line. However, I have seen crested ones in
great numbers in Isparta. Even though rare, groused legs and crest is seen
in dolapcis that were brought from Yugoslavia.
Basrali Gök (Blue check) cock / DN 04 - Gökçil (blue-freckles) hen / DN 27
Some breeders tend to mix dolpacis with döneks and kelebeks but since the
results are not satisfactory it is short lived. I also think following each
blood line separately is important in order to give each breed what it deserves.
Gökçil (blue-freckles) hen / DN 32 - Karabasrali Gök ( blue black-check) cock / DN 15
I can say the Dolapçi is far from its glory days under the shadows of dönek
keeping which requires intensive knowledge, patience and training. Now the
dolapçi breeders are tangled up in the color and head (marking) direction
and this local breed is quickly loosing its qualities.
Kinali Gök (Hennaed blue) cock / DN 18 - Gökçil (blue-freckles) hen / DN 33
While we still have a number of superior quality dolapcis, I believe we
should continue our contribution to the development of them by paying needed
attention. I strongly recommend dolapçi breed, which has enabled me to live
an ideal pigeon keeping life, to all performance breeders.
White and yamali (patched) Dolapcis.
